Armenia

Mount Ararat, while not technically within the borders of Armenia, has played a huge role in the cultural heritage for millennia. Made up of two cones Greater & Little Ararat, known as Masis and Sis locally. The taller of the two stands at 5137m, known in religious history for being where Noah’s Ark landed but also in pre-Christian Armenia it was also considered the home of the gods. Mount Aragats is the tallest mountain in Armenia, situated in the Aragatsotn Province and is known for the 4 peaks situated at the top. There are plenty of historical monuments to visit on the slope of the mountain and in the nearby villages. You can visit the Byurakan Observatory, Amberd Fortress and Vahramashen Church which offer fabulous hikes and stunning views. Once you almost arrive at the summit you will find the beautiful Lake Kari which makes a fantastic place to have lunch or even a BBQ.   Mount Azhdahak, located in Gegharkunik and standing at 3597m is one of the most popular sites for hiking and trekking and its name originates from an evil dragon in Armenian mythology. On the way to the top, you’ll see dragon stones and ancient rock carvings which depict sun, moon, stars and images of hunters and fighters. Upon reaching the summit you’ll be greeted with stunning views, scenery, and the beautiful Lake Sevan.

Bhutan

The Kingdom of Bhutan is a destination steeped in ancient traditions, outstanding mountain scenery and party to colourful and vibrant festivals of which Paro in March and Thimphu in October are the most well-known. The Sacred Taktsang Monastery, Tigers Nest, built in 1692 at 3000m above sea level is a place of pure tranquility. From misty mountains to fast flowing rivers and steep forested hills, the traditional way of life and culture blossoms in this part of Himalayas. Dotted along the hilltops and valleys are superb dzongs full of priceless artifacts many of which are still active monasteries. The Druk Path, is one of the classic treks we offer, it follows an ancient trade route from Paro to Thimphu and visited is only by a lucky few. Trek though rhododendron forests, past yak herder settlements, across several passes and camp beside clear blue mountain lakes with spectacular views of the peaks which border Tibet.

Cambodia

Visit the jewel in Cambodia’s crown the incredible jungle enveloped Temples of Angkor of the great Khmer Empire. The Cosmopolitan capital Phnom Penh offers a laidback culture, amazing history and heritage. Georgia

Whether you’re wanting to enjoy the cultural delights and unique sights and sounds that can be found down the narrow Old Town streets in lively Tbilisi. Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a sensory delight, a whirlwind of culture, commerce and a beautiful blend of ancient and modern cityscape. Hike the Dragon’s Back Trail, located just outside the centre and forming part of a 50km trail linking Victoria Peak to Big Wave Bay. A moderate hike with some steeper sections that can be enjoyed by all levels of hiking enthusiasts. Join the Peak Tram, a 120 year old railway that connects Hong Kong’s Central District to Victoria Peak or trek up the Old Peak Road and enjoy views from 552m above the city’s spectacular skyline. Get haggling in Temple Street Night Market in Kowloon or enjoy traditional Hong Kong street food from one of the many open air stalls. Ride the 3.5m Ngong Ping 360 cable car on Lantau Island linking the north side to the hills of Ngong Ping and check out the Po Lin Monastery and the Tian Tan Buddha. Taking the family? Kazakhstan

This region is most famous for the silk road and for Russia’s space program. Kyrgystan
